So I recently stumbled upon drinking peppermint tea for acne. I've been dealing with acne for the past couple of years now, and I'm always on the look out for new natural remedies. My acne has greatly improved since the beginning, thanks to my natural skin care routine.
Now, I'm all for trying natural home remedies, and I couldn't pass this one up after reading so many good reviews about it! I've only been drinking it for three days, so I can't give you a full in depth review of how it's working on my skin. But, I must say, my skin is looking clearer! After only three days could it possibly be working already? Maybe, maybe not. Haha, it could just be a physiological thing! Although... I do think it's working.
I'm going to list some of the benefits of drinking peppermint tea. Both for your skin, and for your whole body's health in general.
- Peppermint tea helps your digestion (great to drink after a large meal!)
- Helps calm an upset stomach
- Helps relax you
- Helps control hormonal acne (due to a slight boost in estrogen levels)
- Beneficial for immune system
- Helps relax you for a good nights sleep
Okay, so those are some of the benefits of drinking peppermint tea that I found. If you're like me, you might not really be a fan of the flavor of tea (even though you might really want to like tea!). Honestly though, drinking the peppermint tea hasn't been bad! I'm actually growing to like it. I don't add sugar, honey, or milk to the tea. I just drink it plain. I figured if I was going to drink it everyday, I didn't want to get use to drinking it with the sugar or honey in it. So, plain I went! And it really doesn't taste bad!
Well, I'm going to keep drinking the tea and I'll let you know how my skin is doing in another post!
** Update! I kept with drinking this tea for a few more days, but my body just wasn't agreeing with it. My skin seemed a bit worse (could just be it purging, but I didn't want to keep drinking it to see), and my body in general just didn't seem very happy with drinking it. So I stopped drinking it. I've read a few more posts about how I felt, so I guess it isn't too uncommon. But I've also read a lot of posts about it working really well for them! So try it out for yourself, and research it! Everyone's body is different.
